Why does my garage door reverse when I try to close it?
This is what we call a textbook example of a problem with the safety sensors. Your opener relies on photo-electric eyes to detect obstacles that get in the door's way, and if these units become misaligned or damaged they can start getting a "false-positive", i.e. detecting an obstacle when there's nothing actually there. This will cause the opener to reverse the door, just like it would if there actually was something underneath it. The sensors will need to be re-aligned or replaced, and since these are very delicate components, we recommend that you have our experts take care of that for you.
How can I keep my garage door in great working condition?
Regular maintenance is the only way to keep your garage door functional for as long as possible. While there are some tasks that you can take care of on your own, like inspecting the various parts and testing the safety sensors, any hands-on work, like spring adjustment or roller replacement, should be left to our technicians. Garage door systems can be very dangerous, so it's always a good idea to let experts take care of them.
What happens if I don't lubricate my garage door parts at all?
Leaving the moving parts of a garage door system without lubrication or maintenance will simply speed up the process of degradation. Rust will appear in places and the system as a whole may run less smoothly over time. The door will likely become increasingly noisy over time and generally fall apart at a faster rate.
